Warmer temperatures could prevent precipitation changing over from rain to snow in the central and southern portions of Westchester until later in the evening.
The National Weather service has downgraded Southern Westchester from a winter storm watch to a winter weather advisory.
Up to 4 inches of snow is still possible in the southern parts county and is expected to significantly impact travel on what is one of the busiest days of the year.
North of Interstate 287 still has a winter storm warning. Northern areas like Peekskill could still see between 6 and 12 inches of snow before the storm moves on.
Snow will begin to taper off overnight with just a 20 percent chance of a snow shower on Thanksgiving morning.
Sunny skies will return on Friday with temperatures in the 30s.
