WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y.-- Halloween season in Westchester kicks off on Oct. 5, opening night for one of the tri-state area’s largest fall events.

Here's a look at the activities scheduled throughout the Halloween season:

The Great Jack O’ Lantern Blaze in Croton-on-Hudson  will feature more than 5,000 illuminated, individually hand-carved jack o’ lanterns. Blaze artists will be carving on site during the event.

Also at the Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze is the new Museum of Pumpkin Art, the first ever exhibition space devoted to sculptural works inspired by (but not made from) pumpkins.

The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze will be open on 25 selected evenings through Nov. 11. It's at 525 South Riverside Ave., just off Route 9 in Croton.

Horseman’s Hollow transforms Philipsburg Manor into a terrifying landscape ruled by the undead, the evil, and the insane, all serving the Headless Horseman himself.

Philipsburg Manor is at 381 N. Broadway (Route 9) in Sleepy Hollow.

Master storyteller Jonathan Kruk offers a dramatic re-telling of Washington Irving’s classic tale, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow at the Old Dutch Church across from Philipsburg Manor. Performances last approximately 45 minutes.

The Legend Behind the Legend gives tours of Irving's home as well as shadow puppet performances on Saturdays and Sundays.

Irving's home is on West Sunnyside Lane, off Route 9 in Tarrytown.
