A stretch of the Taconic State Parkway was shut down and an automobile on the track nearby in the vicinity of Valhalla and Hawthorne caused third-rail damage and lengthy Metro-North Line delays during the evening commute.

The Taconic closure, caused by a brush fire, occurred around 4:30 p.m., on the southbound side in Mount Pleasant between Cleveland Street and the Bronx River Parkway. That stretch of the Taconic reopened just before 5:15 p.m., but residual delays remain.

Harlem Line delays were between 20 minutes and 30 minutes.
