SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. Putting the Morse After-School program back into the 2011-12 budget will be discussed during the Sleepy Hollow Board of Trustees Tuesday night work session.
The discussion comes after several parents questioned the board at its June 18 meeting about when it would be addressing the issue. Parents encouraged the board to have the discussion sooner rather than later.
I know you say youre going to put it on the agenda, Lorena Carchipulla said during the June 28 board meeting. But its been a month. How long is it going to take you? Two months go by fast and we have to know where were going to leave our children.
The village-run program costs $125 per month for each child and serves 40 children. For parents with children in the after-school program, the next closes program is at the Tarrytown YMCA, which costs approximately $383 a month for each child. Parents expressed concerns during the June 28 meeting about the YMCA program, including the increased cost. Parent Herbert Weltig told the board the YMCA program was not an option for him.
The after-school program is the only item listed on the work sessions agenda , although it could change before the meeting.
