Things To Do This Weekend In The Tarrytowns

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. — There’s no reason to leave the Tarrytown area this weekend if you’re looking for something to do. Here’s a list of weekend events in Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow and Irvington.

Friday 

Tarrytown Third Friday: 5 to 9 p.m., Tarrytown Main St. Live music from Hard Ten, puppetry by Jilly-Puppets, martial arts demo by Yoo's Martial Arts, facepainting by Fantabulous Faces and more. Screening of “Goldfinger” has been rescheduled for September's Third Friday due to a negative weather forecast.

“Perspectives of Light…and Dark”, photographs of lighthouses by Dani Jackson on exhibit in the Martucci Gallery at the Irvington Public Library. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

Farmer's Market: Stone Barns Center’s produce, meat and eggs will be on sale from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 630 Bedford Road, Pocantico Hills. 

Civil War 150th Anniversary Exhibit at the Sleepy Hollow-Tarrytown Historical Society. 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Jacob Odell House at 1 Grove Street in Tarrytown.

Phil Dollard at Black Cat Cafe in Irvington: 6 to 8 p.m.

Open Mike Night at the Hudson Valley Writers' Center: Sign-up begins at 7:30 p.m. Show starts at 8 p.m. Admission $3.

Free Jazz Concert at Patriot’s Park 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Featured artist: Laura Dreyer Quartet.

Geoff Hartwell at the Set Back Inn: 9 p.m. To midnight. Geoff Hartwell performs a solo acoustic show for his first appearance at the Set Back Inn.

Piano Bar at Bistro Z at the Doubletree Hotel in Tarrytown. 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

 

Saturday

Farmer's Market: Stone Barns Center’s produce, meat and eggs will be on sale from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 630 Bedford Road, Pocantico Hills.

Tarrytown Farmer's Market at Patriot’s Park. 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tarrytown Farmer's Market in Patriot's Park every Saturday through Thanksgiving draws together farmers and artisan foods producers from around New York State, selling fresh fruit and produce, chicken, eggs, cheese, baked goods and more. The market also features live music, children's activities, plus representatives from a multitude of community groups. It's the place to shop, meet up with your neighbors and find out what's going on in the village.

Civil War 150th Anniversary Exhibit at the Sleepy Hollow-Tarrytown Historical Society. 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Jacob Odell House at 1 Grove Street in Tarrytown.

Summer Nights with Ingmar Bergman at the Tarrytown Music Hall: Smiles of a Summer Night. 7 p.m.:Inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and itself the inspiration for both Sondheim’s A Little Night Music and Woody Allen’s A Midsummer Night’s Sex Comedy, this delightful Bergman classic is a about a stuffy, newly married lawyer who tries to rekindle has past romance with a stage actress. New Yorker critic Pauline Kael called it “one of the few classics of carnal comedy.” $5 ticket price.

Where It's At Jazz Duo at the Black Cat Cafe in Irvington: 6 to 8 p.m.

Sunday

Sleepy Hollow Lighthouse Tours: 1 to 3 p.m. At Kingsland Point Park. Last tour starts at 2:30 p.m. Admission is $5 adults, $3 children.

Mary Chapin Carpenter at the Tarrytown Music Hall: 7 p.m. Tickets range from $35 to $80. By combining folk, country, acoustic, rock and blues, Carpenter has proven herself to be an artist for whom the conventional boundaries of the music business disappear. Special guest Lucy Roche.
