Things to Do in the Tarrytowns This Weekend

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – There's no reason to leave the Tarrytown area this weekend if you're looking for something to do. Here's a list of weekend events in Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow and Irvington.

Friday

- Irvington's Main Street School Talent Show will begin at 6 p.m.

- Comedian Lisa Lampanelli performs at the Tarrytown Music Hall at 7 and 10 p.m. Visit the music hall website for more information.

- The Irvington Library's High School Book Club discusses John Green's “Looking for Alaska” at 7 p.m.

- The Hudson Valley Writers' Center hosts an Open Mic Night. Admission is $3 and sign-ups begin at 7:30 p.m. The show begins at 8 p.m.

- The Piano Bar at Bistro Z at the DoubleTree Hotel in Tarrytown lasts from 8 to 11 p.m.

Saturday

- Warner Library and the EPTA of the Tarrytowns host the second-annual read-a-thon from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Children's Room.

- The Sleepy Hollow Health Day and Blood Drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the James Galgano Senior Center.

- Warner Library hosts “Franchise Ownership: Starting Your Own Business” at 1 p.m.

- Watch the TEDxManhattan talk “Changing the Way We Eat” at the Stone Barns Center from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

- The Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture hosts “Farm to Table,” a program where participants gather ingredients and then help prepare seasonal recipes, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Visit the website for more information.

- Local poets will read from their work during the monthly “Sundays @ the J with George and Friends” at the JCC on the Hudson from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
