Tarrytown's Pierson Park Remains Open This Summer

TARRYTOWN, NY- Pierson Park is still open, according to Village Administrator Michael Blau even though the village had said earlier that it would be closed during the summer for construction.

Blau’s comments came after resident Lori Semeraro asked during the Board of Trustees meeting why concerts were being allowed in the park on Thursday evenings.

“We were told that Pierson Park was going to be closed this summer” and that all events would help held at Patriot’s Park, Semeraro said noting that there were signs all over the village announcing Thursday night concerts at Pierson Park.

“Is Pierson Park open or is it closed?” she asked.

Blau explained that although Tarrytown had expected to be in construction, a delay at the state level in the review process has hampered the project. Since the park is still open and it hasn’t been put out to bid yet, the recreation supervisor asked to hold the concerts at Pierson Park because it is a better venue and has more parking.
