Tarrytown Rotary Fills Pantry At Ronald McDonald House

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- When the members of Tarrytown Rotary Club learned recently of a bare snack pantry at the Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley in Valhalla, volunteers sprang into action.

A food drive quickly drew enough donations to fill the cupboards at the facility that provides a temporary home for families with critically ill children in Valhalla.

The Tarrytown Rotary then appealed to Rotary clubs across Westchester to run food drives year-round, each chapter taking a month.

Ronald McDonald House relies on community support, along with a staff and volunteers, to carry out its mission, according to Tarrytown Rotary.

The facility is licensed by McDonald's, however it is not funded by the corporation.

Those interested in making a snack donation, may contact Margaret Black, Tarrytown Rotary Club at mblack@ambins.com or contact Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley at (914) 493 6455. It is located at 80 Woods Road, Valhalla.
