TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Jewish residents in Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow and Irvington will celebrate Passover beginning Monday evening.

The holiday celebrates the emancipation of the Jewish people from years of slavery in Egypt. Families will sit down to the Seder, re-telling the story of Moses leading his people out of Egypt and the journey to Mount Sinai.

Temple Beth Abraham in Tarrytown will host a conservative and reform Passover service from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday. Temple Beth Abraham closed at 1 p.m. Monday, and will remain closed through Wednesday in observance of Passover.

The JCC on the Hudson will close Monday at 3 p.m. and remain closed Tuesday and Wednesday in honor of the holiday. There will be no men's club meeting on Wednesday.
