Tarrytown Police Catch Massachusetts Teen Fugitive

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – A Massachusetts teen on probation fled the state and ended up in Tarrytown only to be arrested on drug and alcohol-related charges, police said.

Police stopped the 17-year-old in the DoubleTree Hotel parking lot on South Broadway around 5 p.m. on March 5 and charged him with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh-degree, a misdemeanor.

While the teen was being booked, police found a fake Massachusetts driver's license and charged him with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second-degree, a felony.

Police also discovered the teen was a fugitive from justice: he on probation and not allowed out of the state.

The teen was taken to the Westchester County Jail with no bail. He will be extradited to Massachusetts when finished in Tarrytown court, police said.

EMS Call

A jogger on the trail behind the Tarrytown Lakes reported a girl was lying unresponsively on the side of the track around 3 p.m. on March 6. Emergency responders took the girl to the Westchester Medical Center for treatment.

Stolen Bike

A Central Avenue resident reported his small blue mountain bicycle had been stolen overnight on March 5 after he had locked and secured it to an outside staircase located behind his house.


The winch from the fireboat stored at the Fire Training Center on Green Street was reported stolen on March 3.

Coyote Sightings

A coyote was spotted near Prospect Avenue around 8 a.m. on March 3. A motorist on Route 119 spotted another coyote around 5 p.m. on March 4. An unknown person reported seeing a sick coyote on Prospect Avenue around 10 a.m. on March 7. Another coyote was spotted on Benedict Avenue around 6 p.m. on March 7.


A woman reported to police that someone had spent $981.75 of her Wells Fargo checking account in London without her permission on March 2.


Police charged Elnaz Hajimohhammad, 26, with prostitution, a misdemeanor, at the DoubleTree Hotel around 8 p.m. on March 1. Hajimohhamad was released on $250 cash bail.
