Tarrytown Opens Cooling Center During Heatwave

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – A cooling center will be open Tuesday and Wednesday in Tarrytown as temperatures reach the 90s and the county issued a heat advisory.

The Tarrytown Senior Center has been designated as a cooling center for all village residents who seek an air-conditioned space. The Senior Center is located at 240 West Main St., next to Pierson Park. The center will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow and Irvington residents can also find other cool locations in the area.

The Irvington public library is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Warner Library in Tarrytown is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

Spray pools are located at Barnhardt Park and Reverand Sykes Park in Sleepy Hollow, as well as Matthiessen Park and Memorial Park in Irvington.
