Tarrytown Motorist Accused of Using Car as Weapon

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Tarrytown police charged a 76-year-old motorist with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, after he was accused of trying to run down a sanitation worker with his car.

The man told police that Angelo Mosca almost struck him several times with his car on Church Street around 12:30 p.m. on May 22. He told police Mosca was upset about garbage pick-up.

Police also reported the following items:

Electrical Fire: Firefighters extinguished a small electrical outlet fire in an apartment at 1 River Plaza around 8:30 p.m. on May 21.

iPhone Theft: A man told police his iPhone had been stolen at Dunkin' Donuts around 11 a.m. on May 21. Police filed a petit larceny report.

Marijuana Bust: Police charged two men with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, after a traffic stop on the New York State Thruway around 10 p.m. on May 20.

Mulch Fire: Firefighters extinguished a mulch fire in front of Village Hall around 6 p.m. on May 20.

Paper Towel Theft: The Dollar Dream store in the Tarrytown Centre reported a man took two packages of Bounty paper towels from the store without paying for them before getting in a dark car  and driving away around 3:30 on May 20.

Porch Fire: Firefighters extinguished a fire around 2:45 p.m. on May 20 on Wildey Street after a resident reported seeing smoke coming from a neighbor's back porch.

DWI: Police charged Caitlin E. McArdle, 19, with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, after a traffic stop around 1:30 a.m. on May 20 on South Broadway. McArdle was also cited for failing to obey a traffic-control device and using her cell phone while driving.
