Tarrytown Man Pleads Guilty to Kidnapping

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – A Tarrytown man pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of second degree kidnapping, a felony. Reese Basile, 37, faces a maximum sentence of five to 25 years in state prison when he is sentenced April 10, according to the District Attorney's office.

Basile got into an argument with his girlfriend at their residence in the Tappan Landing neighborhood of Tarrytown last September, the District Attorney's office said.

“The defendant struck the victim numerous times with a starter’s pistol, told her he was going to kill her and then forced her at gunpoint to accompany him to a friend’s home in Sleepy Hollow,” the DA's office said in a release.

Basile's girlfriend fled the scene once they arrived at a house at 14 Chestnut St. in Sleepy Hollow and another man called 9-1-1, officials said Sleepy Hollow police found Basile in front of his Tarrytown residence after conducting a preliminary investigation.
