Tarrytown Man Gets Eight Years in Kidnapping

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – A Tarrytown man was sentenced to eight years in state prison Tuesday after he kidnapped his then-girlfriend, threatened to kill her and forced her to a friend's home in Sleepy Hollow in September, the Westchester district attorney said.

Reese Basile, 37, pleaded guilty to one count of second degree kidnapping, a felony, in March.

Basile got into an argument with his girlfriend at their residence in the Tappan Landing neighborhood of Tarrytown last September, the District Attorney's office said.

“The defendant struck the victim numerous times with a starter’s pistol, told her he was going to kill her and then forced her at gunpoint to accompany him to a friend’s home in Sleepy Hollow,” the DA's office said in a release.

Basile's girlfriend fled the scene once they arrived at a house at 14 Chestnut St. in Sleepy Hollow and another man called 9-1-1, officials said. Sleepy Hollow police said they found Basile in front of his Tarrytown residence after conducting a preliminary investigation.
