Dozens of residents have set up camp at Warner Library for the past two days to recharge their cell phones and get Internet access. Library staff were helping people find outlets and chairs on Wednesday morning. The library announced it would also open early on Thursday beginning at 10 a.m. The library will close as usual at 9 p.m. Thursday.

Several businesses in Tarrytown also offered their electricity to residents who don't have power at home. Village Dog on Main Street opened at 11:30 a.m. and let residents charge their phones.

“We've got plenty of outlets,” the business posted on The Tarrytown Daily Voice's Facebook page.

The Tarrytown YMCA was encouraging all residents, regardless of whether they were members, to use the center's showers and locker rooms on Wednesday.

Coffee Labs Roasters opened for business Tuesday morning after Hurricane Sandy wiped out power. Owners Mike Love and Alicia Kelligrew told fans on Facebook that the reason they had been unable to post updates wasn't because they were closed — they had been too busy as people came for coffee, power and WiFi.

W@tercooler owner Jenifer Ross sent out a notice that the co-working space would remain open until 10 p.m. Wednesday for residents to work, charge their electronics and warm up.

The Tarrytown Music Hall canceled its Ingrid Michaelson concert planned for Wednesday night because it is still unsafe on many area roads. The concert has been rescheduled for December.

Executive Director Bjorn Olsson said damage was not a factor in the show cancellation.

“The Music Hall is fine,” he said. “No damage to talk about and [we] never lost power.”
