TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – A group of local women has raised approximately $27,000 as part of the One Billion Rising movement to stop violence against women.
The Hudson River Rising group, lead by Tarrytown resident Elyssa Feldman-Most and Sleepy Hollow resident Jane Dubin, hosted several fundraising events in the past two months.
“We are extremely grateful to our extended community for this tremendous support,” Dubin said.
The group led a wine-tasting fundraiser and a benefit dance party and auction for Hope's Door, a shelter for victims of domestic violence. The group also sponsored a flash mob that danced through downtown Tarrytown on Valentine's Day.
