IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- One suspect is in custody after a stabbing incident involving two people at the Irvington train station at approximately 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, Irvington Police said.
"It appears that it was a domestic incident between a man and a woman who knew each other," Irvington Mayor Brian Smith told Daily Voice. "The only victims were the defendant and the single victim."
Smith said earlier reports of multiple stabbing victims are incorrect.
The two involved, neither of whom are Irvington residents, Smith said, were treated at local hospitals, according to the police department.
"We are lucky to have such dedicated professionals at the Irvington Police Department, Irvington Fire Department and the Irvington Volunteer Ambulance Corps," Smith said in an email on Thursday morning.
