Sleepy Hollow Schools Begin 2012-13 Budget Process

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – The Public Schools of the Tarrytowns will begin discussing its 2012-13 school budget next week. The following is a schedule of budget-related discussions for the school district.

School board members will hear a preliminary budget project report during Thursday's Board of Education meeting at 8 p.m. in the administration building.

School officials will make budget recommendations during their March 8 board meeting and hold a budget discussion during their March 22 meeting.

Saturday budget workshops will be held on March 10 at 8:30 a.m., March 17 at 8:30 a.m., and March 31 at 8:30 a.m.

School officials will distribute the proposed budget to the public on April 17 and a “property tax report card” to the state education department on April 25.

Board of Education members will adopt a budget during the April 24 meeting.

A budget hearing will be held on May 3.

Residents will vote on the 2012-13 school budget on May 15.
