SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. Some roads in Sleepy Hollow were still closed a day after Tropical Storm Irene stormed through the area, according to Sleepy Hollow Police Chief Gregory Camp.
Sleepy Hollow Road will remain closed until debris on the roadway is cleared, Camp said. There are wires down on the roadside and trees leaning on the wires, Camp said.
Southbound Route 9, between Bellwood and Kelbourne, has been reduced to one lane as wires are down along the roadway, Camp said. Traffic along that section of Route 9 may be limited or shut down when Con Edison arrives to work on the lines, Camp said.
Con Edison was reporting Monday morning that 505 customers were still without electricity in the Manors after downed wires cut off power. They are estimating that power will be restored by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday. New York State Electric and Gas is reporting no outages in area.
