Criminal Mischief - Police received a report around 9 a.m. on June 13 that there was graffiti and someone had removed some fence poles on Andrews Lane.

Stranger Enters House - A resident reported around noon on June 13 that a black man had walked into his Francis Street house and then left when he saw the resident.

Mother Confronts Woman - A woman confronted a group of 10-year-old boys about throwing rocks in Douglas Park. The next day, June 13, a mother came up and starting yelling at the woman, saying the woman had yelled at her kids.

Rock Throwing - Police responded to a report of kids throwing rocks in Douglas Park on June 13 around 5 p.m. Officers report that the kids were breaking river bed rocks apart by throwing them on the boulders along the roadway.

Dog Attacks Dog - A woman and her dog were walking on Elm Street on the evening of June 13 when an unleashed dog attacked the woman’s dog.

DPW Sanitation Truck Victim of Hit and Run - Village sanitation works flagged a police officer down around 11:30 a.m. on June 14 after a black Lincoln Town Car with Connecticut plates had sideswiped their truck and left the scene at the intersection of Depeyster and Cortlandt. Police checked the area, but did not find the car.

Explosives-Carrying Truck Gets Lost - The driver of a truck carrying level 1.1 D and 1.4 explosives on its way to Texas called police around 7 p.m. on June 14 saying he was lost and had gotten off of 287 at the Tarrytown exit. After contacting the state police, officers told the driver he could not cross the Tappan Zee Bridge with that level of explosives and gave him directions to I-684.

Suspicious Person Reported - A man wearing an oversized suit was walking around a Sleepy Hollow neighborhood and several houses on June 14. Police went to the neighborhood and found that the man was soliciting for home improvements. They informed him of the village ordinance and sent him on his way.

Refrigerator Parts Stolen - The motor and condenser unit were stolen from a refrigerator on a rear loading dock at a location on Cortlandt Street. Police took photos and forwarded the case to the Detective Division.

Dog Bite Reported - A Yorkshire terrier bit a person on Howard Street on June 15. Police later spoke to the dog’s owner, who was going to return with the proper animal bite form paperwork.

Police Assist With Route 117 Racing - Mount Pleasant police requested assistance from Sleepy Hollow police on a report of vehicle racing around 1 a.m. on June 16. Police checked the area, but found no vehicles. Mount Pleasant police called again 10 minutes later to request backup because one their patrol cars on Route 9 had some of the vehicles that may have been racing.

Man Arrested for Marijuana - A man was arrested around 9 p.m. on June 16 after he was observed rolling something that appeared to be a marijuana cigarette while sitting on a curb behind a vehicle on Cortlandt Street.

Motorcyclist’s Stunts Lead to Arrest - A motorcyclist was reported to been doing wheelies up and down Beekman Avenue around 10 p.m. on June 16. Police responded and found that he had a suspended license.

Dead Animals - A woman reported around 3 p.m. on June 17 that there were dead animals in her garbage cans on Beekman Avenue. Police responded and found an animal pest problem. They gave the woman a wildlife management phone to control the problem.
