Sleepy Hollow Police Blotter

The Sleepy Hollow police handled the following incidents over the Memorial Day weekend.

DWI and property damage: Sleepy Hollow police responded to a complaint of a vehicle striking four parked vehicles along Depeyster Street and North Washington Street, Thursday at 11:55 p.m.  The suspect vehicle had driven into Tarrytown and was stopped by Tarrytown PD and they arrested the driver. Police charged Horatio Reyes, 45, of Tarrytown was charged by SHPD with leaving the scene of property damage accidents and driving while intoxicated. He also was cited with a village ordinance violation of damage to village property for damaging a sign.

May 28

11 p.m.: SHPD officers were issuing open container violations and moving groups in the area of Clinton and Cortlandt Streets when an unknown subject poured a liquid on a parked police vehicle. The SHPD is investigating.

May 30

11 a.m.: Overnight on May 29 into May 30, unknown subject(s) entered the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery and attempted to enter a building, damaging the door. The SHPD is investigating.

May 30

2 p.m.: A local resident reported being bitten by a skunk while gardening. Police were unable to locate the animal. The SHPD has urged all residents to check their surroundings while engaged in outdoor activities and be wary of wild animals, as distemper and rabies are a concern.
