Sleepy Hollow, Phelps Offer Counseling For Recent Trauma

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – Sleepy Hollow officials and Phelps Memorial Hospital Center staff are co-sponsoring a community meeting Thursday to help residents deal with several recent tragic events, including the Sandy Hook School shooting and the deaths of Sleepy Hollow residents Catherine Kadnar and Theresa Gorski.

Phelps staff will be in the Sleepy Hollow Village Hall boardroom from 7 to 8:30 p.m. to answer questions about post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, treatment and other topics. A Spanish translator will also be available.

Sleepy Hollow is urging anyone affected by recent events to attend Thursday's meeting.

Phelps staff attending the meeting will be: Judy Burns, director of behavioral health services; Rachel Schoolcraft, a program psychiatrist; and Abby Schneider, program director of Phelps counseling.
