Sleepy Hollow Horsemen Stomp Out Yonkers, 41-0

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – Dennis Bencosme wasn't the only person who showed up to Sleepy Hollow's Homecoming football game against Yonkers on Saturday afternoon, which ended in a 41-0 victory for the Horesmen. He was the only one wearing face paint though.

“He's really embarrassed,” Bencosme said with a laugh, in regards to his friend who had tagged along. “He's not even the one with paint on his face!”

Bencosme, who graduated from Sleepy Hollow in 2007, said he came out to cheer on his little brother, Steven Bencosme. Steven is a junior and wears the No. 1 jersey.

Bencosme was one of many who came to support Sleepy Hollow's football team. The pep band and cheerleaders provided entertainment during the game, with cheers and music following each touchdown and the sad notes of a trombone when the Horsemen lost the ball.

Bencosme cheered throughout the game with a sign he had made, hoping to get noticed by his brother. “Hopefully he sees me, thinks it's awesome and goes crazy,” he said.
