Sleepy Hollow Candidates to Face Off in Debates

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – Two debates between candidates for village trustees have been scheduled this week at Kendal-on-Hudson and Philipsburg Manor.

Six candidates are running for three open seats on the board of trustees. Incumbent Karin Wompa is running alongside Jennifer Lobato-Church and Susan MacFarlane under the Democratic and Better Government lines. David Bedell, Daniel Scott and Sean Roach are running under the Sleepy Hollow Independent line.

Residents at Kendal-on-Hudson have put together a Candidates' Night for Monday at 7:30 p.m. Each candidate will make a two-minute opening statement about why they're running and their qualifications. Each party will have nine minutes to read prepared statements answering questions about the most important issues in Sleepy Hollow. Candidates will also answer questions from the audience.

Residents in Philipse Manor and Sleepy Hollow Manor will hold their annual debate on Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Philipsburg Manor Auditorium. The debate will focus on current village interests and questions from the audience. Complimentary refreshments will be available at 7:30 p.m.
