SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. Another shutdown of the Catskill Aqueduct has Sleepy Hollow officials once again asking residents to conserve water.
"Please refrain from heavy use of water," Mayor Ken Wray said, while asking residents to turn off automatic lawn sprinklers and wait to fill up their swimming pools.
New York City officials, who control the Catskill Aqueduct, are planning to shut down the system from 4 p.m. Thursday to 8 a.m. Friday, so work can be done on tie-ins to a connecting plant. The shutdown means no water will be flowing into the village's storage tank.
The aqueduct was also shut off on Tuesday. This is the second round of shutdowns.
Sleepy Hollow officials said the village's water parks, including at Barnhart Park, would be turned off during the shutdown.
