SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. -- Police were unable to find two Hispanic men this afternoon in the wooded area around Pleasant St., the GM lot and Philipsburg Manor after they had reportedly been interrupted in a residential burglary, Sleepy Hollow Police Chief Gregory Camp said.
Camp said the residents of a house on Pleasant St. interrupted a burglary this morning around 10:30. The two suspects exited the house, climbed over a fence and fled into the dense underbrush of the Philipsburg Manor restoration property, Camp said.
Sleepy Hollow, Westchester and State police arrived on the scene with K-9 units to form a perimeter around the area. Camp said they were seeing if we can do anything with canines here. Were trying to track them.
Camp said police were still processing the scene, so it was unclear whether anything was taken.
Police are asking that anyone who may have seen anything suspicious around Pleasant or Continental Streets this morning or if they observed someone emerging from the wooded areas around Philipsburg Manor to contact the Detective Division at 914-631-0800.
