Featuring the globally acclaimed pianists Vladimir Feltsman and Helen Sung, the concerts will take place in the Recital Hall of the Purchase College Performing Arts Center at 735 Anderson Hill Road, in Purchase. In addition to enjoying the concerts, music fans can participate in artist receptions and master classes.  On July 22, the legendary Vladimir Horowitz Model D piano will also be available for the public to see, hear, touch and even play, courtesy of the corporate partner, Steinway & Sons. “These outstanding summer concerts continue our tradition of showcasing the finest performing arts talent in the world,” says Pete Malinverni, artistic director of Summer Piano and head of the jazz studies program at Purchase. “The artists display incredible depth and diversity with their virtuosity and brilliant interpretations—which will both entertain and enlighten the audience.”

On Tuesday, July 22, at 7:30 p.m., Vladimir Feltsman will perform an All-Schumann program: Kinderszenen, Op. 15 “Scenes from Childhood”; Faschingsschwank aus Wien, Op. 26; and Fantasie in C Major, Op. 17. One of the most versatile musicians of our time, Feltsman’s vast repertoire encompasses music from the Baroque to 21st-century composers. There will be an audience reception following the performance.

Also on July 22, at 5 p.m., there will be a master class with Stephanie Brown and Paul Ostrovsky, -- both Purchase College Conservatory of Music faculty members and acclaimed musicians -- along with performances of Rachmaninoff.

On Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 7:30 p.m., Sung will present a solo piano program with selections from her 2014 major label debut "Anthem For A New Day" (Concord Records) as well as her current repertoire of works by master composers and jazz greats. Sung was a classical prodigy who rebelliously fled to the world of jazz. There will be an audience reception after the concert.

Also on Aug. 6  at 5 p.m., there will be a master class with Pete Malinverni entitled “What’s Going On Up There?” providing a fascinating look at the inner workings of a jazz performance.

Tickets for Summer Piano are: $15 adults, $10 for seniors, $5 for students and free to children under 12. For tickets, visit www.artscenter.org or call 914.251.6200. Master classes are free and open to the public. Please RSVP to Danielle Parillo at Danielle.Parillo@purchase.edu or call 914.251.4453.
