TARRYTOWN, N.Y. — Hurricane Sandy knocked down trees, closed roads and cut off power to more than 43 percent of Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow and Irvington.
Irvington police reported Hurricane Sandy downed several trees in the village. A few roads, including Sunnyside Lane and Station Road, were still closed Tuesday morning because of tree damage.
The Tarrytown-Irvington border on Route 9 was also blocked by a downed tree. A large downed tree had also closed Route 9 in Dobbs Ferry just past the Irvington border.
Sleepy Hollow police reported several downed trees. Sleepy Hollow Road is blocked by a downed tree, police said.
Tarrytown police were unavailable by phone Tuesday morning, but several roads remain closed because of downed trees, especially in the Crest neighborhood.
