Peekskill Bakery Owner Says Lack Of Parking Is Hurting Business

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – Rose Sanca, owner of Homestyle Desserts, says the new visitors center and public plaza being built in front of the Lincoln Depot Museum on South Water Street is hurting her business and creating safety hazards for both employees and customers, reports The Examiner.

Sanca, who has owned the bakery for 30 years, says she’s been “bullied” by the city to make room for the construction, the report said.

Although no one was injured in a recent gas leak at the construction site, Sanca is worried it’s only a matter of time before someone is hurt by the lack of parking spaces that make it nearly impossible to enter and exit the bakery safely, according to the report.
