Part of Tarrytown Road Closed, Traffic Diverted

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – A giant hole has opened up in the middle of Franklin St. Don’t worry, it’s there on purpose.

Con Edison crews are working in the area and have dug up a portion of the street so that they could get below the street for maintenance work.

The large hole means that a portion of Franklin St. has been closed to automobile traffic. Cars are being diverted around the area, which is located between Washington St. and Windle Park.

Crew workers at the scene said they expected the road would be closed Thursday and Friday as they work.

The street portion will also be closed on Monday, they said. That’s when crews will fill the hole back up and return the street to its normal condition.
