The New York State Thruway Authority says the monitoring devices, including those for vibration, air quality and noise, will stay in place during the entire construction process to record work impacts.

Residents will be able to monitor the impacts online. Crews will also begin surveying properties near the construction site this week, taking interior and exterior photographs. State officials say Tappan Zee Contractors is working with property owners for access.

Work will continue in the Hudson River as crews conduct geotechnical investigations with barge-based drilling equipment at various points along the bridge. This work helps crews decide where to put future piles for the new bridge.

In Tarrytown, officials said limited test-boring operations will take place on the New York State Thruway property between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays. The testing will not affect traffic in any way.
