Nemo Hits Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow, Irvington

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Village residents began shoveling snow Friday as a storm that is expected to dump several inches of snow on Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow and Irvington began.

Snow began falling Friday morning and is expected to continue through the night in Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow and Irvington.

Sleepy Hollow declared a snow emergency on Thursday. Tarrytown declared a snow emergency Friday morning, Village Administrator Michael Blau said.

Irvington will close all village offices, including the senior center and recreation department, at noon Friday. The Irvington Public Library also plans to close at noon Friday and has rescheduled its Saturday events.

Schools throughout Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow and Irvington have closed for the day or will have an early dismissal. All after-school activities have been canceled as well.
