Lifelong Tarrytown Resident Jean Hatfield Dies

Jean Pieret Hatfield, a lifelong resident of Tarrytown, died September 7 at the age of 85.

Born December 20, 1925, she was the daughter of Edward and Edna Reichel Pieret. Ms. Hatfield graduated from Washington Irving High School in 1943 and went on to work for the County Trust Bank (later Bank of New York) for many years.

She was a lifetime member of Christ Episcopal Church in Tarrytown. Ms. Hatfield was a member of the Tarrytown Volunteer Ambulance Corps since 1967 and was made a life member for devoted service in December 1995. She was also a member of the Tarrytown Seniors.

She is survived by her nieces, Sheryl (Louie) Luongo of Putnam Valley and Karen (Russell) Ippolito of Tarrytown, and her nephew Robert (Carmen) Suhr of West Harrison.

Also surviving are great nieces Keri Ellrodt, Amanda Ellrodt and Kristen Ippolito and great nephew Aaron Ippolito. She was predeceased by her sister Joan Suhr.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 43 South Broadway, Tarrytown, where services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to TVAC P.O. Box 132 Tarrytown, NY 10591 would be appreciated.
