IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- The Irvington Historical Society will hold a lecture, “No Flinching from Fire:  Following the 65th New York Volunteers in the Civil War,” led by Chris Barry, Irvington High School social studies teacher and department chairperson, on Friday.

The lecture will be held at the Irvington Public Library at 7:30 p.m. The Irvington Public Library is at 12 S. Astor St.

Barry’s lifelong interest in the subject was fueled by a childhood visit to Gettysburg, where his great-great grandfather served with the 65th New York Volunteers.  Every year, his AP American history class ends with a trip to Gettysburg.

Refreshments will be served at the event. For more information, visit irvingtonhistoricalsociety.org.
