HARTSDALE, N.Y. --  Greenburgh school administrator Frank Gluberman pleaded guilty Wednesday, Aug. 20 to stealing nearly $795,000 from union funds and faces 15 years in prison when he is sentenced Dec. 14.

Gluberman, 67, was treasurer of the Greenburgh Teacher's Federation and the Greenburgh Teacher's Welfare Fund, positions he held as a volunteer in the union as a longtime teacher in the district.

He was arrested in January 2014 and pleaded not guilty earlier. When Gluberman was promoted in September 2012 to assistant principal at Woodlands High School, an union audit revealed that money was missing.

Gluberman, of Congers, was charged with second-degree grand larceny after allegedly stealing more than $770,000 over a six-year period.

He pleaded guilty Wednesday to second-degree grand larceny, a felony. He is accused of using the money to pay for property taxes on two homes he owns and other personal expenses. Gluberman remains out on bail and on paid administrative leave from Greenburgh schools.

According to the Westchester County District Attorney's office, he is expected to pay back the money when he is sentenced.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of the level of dysfunction in Greenburgh. It's amazing that education happens with the level of corruption at the top.

Have you seen the Greenburgh Board of Education meetings on TV? Ch 33 (Fios) or Ch 77 (Optimum) has it. I am NOT impressed with the presentations by the high school principal Will Washington and the middle school principal B. Spencer. Someone please tell me why Greenburgh hire incompetent people to pay them $150K plus each per year??? I pay taxes and I am outraged to have to pay incompetent administrators!!

Does the reporter have any information on the charges against Gluberman's daughters, who also work in the district collecting our tax $$, and who may have helped him steal $$ from fellow teachers? Should they be working with Greenburgh kids??

Dear Reporter- What is happening with Ronald O. Ross?? He is still collecting his $235K plus salary while on administrative leave!!!!

Lastly, how is it possible for principal, administrator, guidance counselors and teachers to sue the district (tax payers & children!) for $$ and still collect heft paychecks??? Shame on you and how can you look at the kids you teach in the eye everyday?!!? Many of you supported Ronald Ross when he was applying for the superintendent position (you were seen at the WHS cafeteria), that was only 2 years ago even though your law suit alleges 3 years of abuse. Don't pat yourselves on the back as the whistle blower, by supporting Ross to be the superintendent you showed how hypocritical you are.

Pleads guilty, yet remains on PAID administrative leave??

Pleads guilty, yet remains on PAID administrative leave??

"Gluberman remains out on bail and on paid administrative leave from Greenburgh schools."

Danny; What about Ronald O. Ross? We have heard only crickets and I suspect that's all we will ever hear.

Does this mean that we can stop using our TAX dollars for his payroll for doing nothing? And maybe get some payroll dollars pack retroactively??? This is crap that only Greenburgh seems to put up with!
