The Tarrytowns Free Unified School District Board of Education has a pretty full plate for the 2011-12 year, according to newly elected School Board President B. Joseph Lillis.
Lillis said the board will be adjusting to a new evaluation model that starts in September, as well as dealing with the recently passed property tax cap that will require the board to manage their affairs very closely. The district will also be negotiating with three of their four bargaining units.
Im looking forward to working on many of the goals the board has set, Lillis said.
Lillis has previously served as President of the Board of Education. He replaces Mimi Godwin, who had been in the position for two years.
Im pleased that the board showed confidence in me, Lillis said. We tend to rotate the presidency, and Ive played the role before Im happy to serve again.
Trustee Vincent Nadile will serve as vice president, replacing Paul Rode. Lillis, who has known Nadile since he came on the board, said he was looking forward to working with him.
