A member of a tugboat crew, who says he was injured while securing a barge, has sued the contractors building the new Tappan Zee Bridge, according to lohud.

A former tugboat worker is suing the contractors working on the new Tappan Zee Bridge, claiming that he suffered paralyzing spinal injuries after being ordered to secure a barge during a storm last year.

Richard Downing, in a lawsuit filed in federal court in White Plains against Tappan Zee Constructors and Traylor Brothers, alleges that he suffered paralyzing spinal injuries after being ordered to moor the barge during a storm last year, the lohud story said.

According to lohud, the former seaman says he is in mental and physical pain and has been unable to work since the July incident.
