SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – Con Edison's efforts to replace gas lines throughout Sleepy Hollow will most likely hit the Sleepy Hollow Manor neighborhood next, Village Administrator Anthony Giaccio said.
The project is expected to begin this summer.
Con Edison has spent the past several months replacing every gas line the Philipse Manor neighborhood, digging into streets and yards to snake in new pipes. Crews are getting close to finishing the project, with one street left to go, Giaccio said.
Crews also have a lot of restoration work to do on homes in the neighborhood before they move on.
Officials had planned to tackle some areas in the inner-village, but Giaccio said the Duracell remediation interfered.
“They've decided to stay away from that area,” he said. “They've informed us that they're looking to move on to Sleepy Hollow Manor.”
Giaccio said Con Edison was in negotiation with contractors about the project.
