Car Hits Wall, Runs Over Tarrytown Woman's Foot

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – A hit-and-run driver crashed into a rock wall and then ran over a Tarrytown woman's foot after she tried to stop the motorist from fleeing, Tarrytown police said.

A Gracemere Road resident called police after a Blue Honda CRV crashed into a rock wall on her property and then tried to drive away around 4 p.m. on April 30.

The woman told police she tried to stop the car from leaving by hitting the windows with her hands.

The driver, instead of stopping, ran over the woman's right foot and left.

Police also reported the following items:

Suicidal man: Tarrytown Volunteer Ambulance Corps members transported a suicidal man from the Tarrytown Train Station to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center around 3:30 p.m. on May 2.

Coyote sighting: A coyote was spotted near the Transfiguration School on Prospect Avenue around noon on May 2.

Stolen money: A woman reported on May 2 that $140 in cash had been stolen from her purse sometime the day before.

Gas leak: The Shell Gas Station reported a gas leak around 10:30 a.m. on May 2.

Missing car mirror: A man reported that the glass in his car's side mirror had disappeared while the car was parked overnight on Sheldon Avenue on May 1.

Drug arrest: Police charged Ruby A. Schleifer, 20, with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a felony, on April 30. Schleifer was taken to Westchester County Jail.
