WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Snow and freezing rain started to taper off  in Westchester County late in the morning Saturday as the quick-moving storm rapidly moved further east, but a new storm with the potential for substantially more snowfall could batter the area early this coming week.

Parts of Westchester saw as much as 6 inches of snow accumulation overnight, with 6.3 inches reported in Mount Kisco at 6 a.m. Saturday, 6.2 inches in Armonk,  6.0 inches in East White Plains as well as Shrub Oak. Peekskill reported 7 inches at 8 a.m. and Somers 8 inches, for the high in Westchester. Approximately 3.5 inches was reported in Yonkers at 8 a.m.

Approximately 2.5 inches of snow was reported in Central Park in New York City at dawn.

The outlook for Sunday is mostly sunny with a high near 35, but wind chills making it feel like between 15 and 25 degrees.

Westchester could see an even more significant storm with the possibility of a slower moving Nor'easter arriving overnight Monday into most of the day Tuesday, according to some forecast models.

It is too early to predict the possible severity of the storm until the track becomes clearer.
