WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Twenty Westchester County teenagers recently received scholarship awards to defray the costs of summer trips to Israel.

The Singer Scholarship Awards were awarded Tuesday at the UJA-Federation of New York’s office in White Plains, according to a press release.

Fran and Saul Singer of White Plains fund the scholarships, which benefit Jewish teens entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in the fall.

A representative of a synagogue or another UJA-affiliated agency nominated teens; nominees also had to develop community service projects.
