So why an English phone booth?

In 1988, Barbara Block’s niece was living in London and called her Aunt Bobbie to tell her London was replacing the phone booths and the old ones could be purchased for $300.

Barbara Block was excited about the idea and arranged to have it shipped to Tarryrown.

Once it got here, there was a foundation to build, permits to obtain and it had to be refurbished. The village board was not too happy as it was unsightly when it arrived Once it was refurbished, everyone embraced it.

Now, tourist come to take photos and stop in to bring us English phone booth replicas they bring from London.
