SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. -- Sleepy Hollow resident Erin Hart is spearheading an effort to send care packages to the men and women in the U.S. military serving overseas who lack the comforts of home.
The 23-year-old has teamed up with the Tarrytown YMCA, where they have set up a drop box, to collect donations for the soldiers. The Y is at 62 Main St, Tarrytown.
Some of the requested items include puzzle books, snacks, eye drops, body spray, books and magazines. Contact the Y for a full list at 914-631-4807.
Cash donations will be given to Operation Homefront, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the families of deployed service members. You can visit its website here for more information.
Hart is also planning a bake sale to raise money.
More information on how to support the troops can be found here.
