Frandsen was a graduate of Skidmore College. She loved horses and rode at Skidmore before they had an equestrian team. Her husband owned the Buick-Cadillac Auto Dealership, McCall-Frandse in Sleepy Hollow, which was at 358 North Broadway where a brick multi-use building now stands.
Frandsen and her husband were both Rotarians. Rotary Club members made a visit to Miriam to celebrate her birthday.
