Letter: Irvington Mayor Says Go Vote

Irvington Mayor Brian Smith writes a regular village-wide email, which he has allowed The Daily Tarrytown to reprint here.

Election Day

We are very lucky to have five candidates running for two positions on the Board of Education.  While I am sure you cannot miss the signs all over the Village announcing their candidacies, today is the day to vote: polls are open until 9 p.m. at the Main Street School.  If you are still unsure who to vote for, both the Daily Tarrytown and the Rivertowns Patch have had extensive coverage of the candidates.  In addition to the Board of Education Trustee positions, you will also be voting on the 2012-2013 school budget.   PrioritiesAt tomorrow’s work session, the Board of Trustees will be discussing our priorities for the current year.  If you have thoughts on what we should be focusing on in the Village, please send me an e-mail.Rain Barrels and Composters AvailableGroundwork Hudson Valley and Southern Westchester Energy Action Consortium (SWEAC), together with the Irvington Green Policy Task Force, are sponsoring a Compost Bin and Rain Barrel Sale which allows you to purchase these great items at a great discount.
