SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. Jo Ann Clark has been named the new executive director of the Hudson Valley Writers' Center in Sleepy Hollow, board member John Allendorf said.
I am thrilled to take up this exciting role at a place I have truly come to love, Clark said in a statement. I have felt honored to be a part of the Writers Centers growth, and feel excited now to begin guiding its future course. Its a joy being part of this wonderful community serving that craft and art that is writing.
Clark has taught at the Writers' Center and has also served on the Slapering Hol Press Committee and as the center's programming chair.
In addition to her work at the Writers' Center, Clark has served as an administrator at St. Stephen's School in Rome, director of CITYterm at the Masters School and as a teacher at School of the Art Institute of Chicago and at Columbia University Teachers College.
Clark's collection 1,001 Facts of Prehistoric Life will be published by Black Lawrence Press in 2014.
The Writers' Center promotes poetry and prose writing and brings literary artists to the attention of the public. It offers classes, workshops and public events and has its own publishing company.
