SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. -- Happy Birthday to Sleepy Hollow’s Guy Adami!
Guy Adami, who was born in Sleepy Hollow, turns 52 on Friday.
Adami -- a trader, TV personality, and professional investor -- was born Dec. 18, 1963 in Sleepy Hollow. He is one of the original “Fast Money Five” on CNBC’s "Fast Money." On Oct. 2, 2006, The New York Times highlighted the show in an article called “The Brashness Is Back in Money Talk, and Also at CNBC”. In June 1986, Adami began his career at Drexel Burnham Lambert where he worked on the floor of the New York Mercantile Exchange. In 1996, he joined Goldman Sachs’ commodity group, J. Aron, as a vice president. In 2003, he left Goldman Sachs to become an executive director at CIBC World Markets.
On Aug. 11, 2012, Adami became an Ironman after completing the New York City event in 16:19:52. He finished the 2.4-mile Hudson River swim in 1:09:03, the 112-mile bike ride on The Palisades Parkway in 8:15:05, and the 26.2-mile run in 6:27:12. Adami entered the Ironman as part of a fundraising effort for the New Jersey Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of which he is a member of the Board of Trustees. At a Dec. 11, 2012 board meeting, it was announced the “Ironteam” raised $681,730 which surpassed its original goal of $500,000.
