Lister, who grew up in Yorktown and was living in Colorado, was 49 years old and would have celebrated her birthday Friday, July 14.

Lister was hiking with her 16- and 20-year-old sons when she collapsed on the trail, according to the National Park Service. Son Hansen Lister is a junior in college and Barrett Lister a junior in high school.

Tracey's brother, Rob Doerr, is a police officer in Yorktown.

A GoFundMe page set up for the family is close to its goal of $50,000.
