The Davidoff Society honors faculty who demonstrate distinguished caring and committed teaching to medical students at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx.
Alcena, an internal medicine doctor with specializations in hematology and oncology, is on staff at Montefiore Medical Center. He is also a clinical professor in the Department of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree and completed his residency and fellowship.
A longtime fixture of the medical staff at White Plains Hospital, Alcena joined the hospital more than 40 years ago. During his tenure, he also founded the Neighborhood Health Fair, a program which provides valuable screenings and health information each spring to hundreds of under-insured individuals in the White Plains community.
Alcena was previously honored by the Albert Einstein Chapter of the Student National Medical Association for his contributions to science and the profession of medicine.
