SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – Sleepy Hollow is coming to life on the small screen.

Film crews are working hard to turn a North Carolina town into their own version of Sleepy Hollow, according to The Salisbury Post.

Shooting of the Fox pilot, which has Ichabod Crane helping a Sleepy Hollow detective solve a murder, continues all this week. Crews have transformed a local church into “The Old North Church,” a nod to Sleepy Hollow's famed Old Dutch Church and Washington Irving's famed story.

The normally pristine church lawn was turned into a cemetery for the show.

“The transformation is bringing in fake headstones, vines, wrought-iron fencing and “weeds” — elements that in the miracle of television will create a haunting nighttime scene, especially with the historic church and its giant oak tree,” The Salisbury Post noted.
